  • Job-Hunting in a Horrendous Economy

Well, I've officially begun my job hunt. It's scary. I have lots of job postings bookmarked, but I'm afraid to apply to them because I'm just graduating college. They want things like three years of experience, a portfolio of websites you've done for clients, mastery of ASP and Java, experience managing a team. I don't have those things. I have the skills for them (not all of them, but some of them, anyhow) and no way to prove it. :( My internship supervisor gave me some advice: get on freelancing lists. A lot of employers can't afford to take anyone full-time, but they still need help. I'm going to start posting my availability as a freelancer on a couple different sites, and I guess we'll see how that goes.

This whole real-world thing just freaks me out. I want to stay in college forever.
